Deutschland! deutschland, … deutsch…land… Oh ya, it’s already the next morning. ‘Reading’ the newspaper, I quickly reminded myself just how much sex sells, even more than the most popular sporting event in the world. These German player won on more levels than one, that’s for sure!
Well, after a long night celebrating Germany’s victory with the rest of Zurich, I got ready to join a free walking tour. A quick breakfast and a brisk walk later and I met my guide. We toured the old town and learned the basics of Swiss and specifically Zurich’s history. I present, the images!:
Tour completed, I exchanged information with some of the others on the tour who went to school in the US and had overlapping schedules in Switzerland. I then looked for some lunch, but Subways’ $20 footlong’s errr not even a ft, 30cm, didn’t fool me!
I rested for a bit at the hostel and gathered my thoughts before heading up the mountain! I cabled, then hiked then celebrated the long day with a drink!
Zooming into the city:
Walking back:
Oh snap, a storm’s a moving in!
Better get some grub then.
Once the storm subsided, I wandered down to the pier on the lake for some sunset shots to close out an awesome day:
I grabbed a few road beers for my route back tried to crash a bit early. Unfortunately, two homeless old men started to argue in my room. I felt quite uncomfortable and debated looking for other lodging immediately. Another young traveler who had planned on staying here even slept on the couch as all of the beds had been sold to homeless after 10PM. I even locked up my soap and dirty socks as even those could be targeted by these…people.
my sister Janice and her husband were in Germany the exact same time you were they loved it
